Waiting...

There is nothing like waiting to hear news about the life or death of a loved one to help you be even more grateful for the people in your life.

Will you please join us in praying for a one-year-old in Scott's extended family that was run over in his driveway by another member of the family? I am actually most concerned for the emotional well-being of this second individual, so pray for them as well.

All we know at this point is that the child has been life-flighted to a local children's hospital.

I have truly recognized the power of prayer in my life during the past year, and I know that your combined efforts will make a difference in the lives of this family.

My sincere thanks. I will post an update in the comments as soon as I know more...

The child is stable, but has multiple skull fractures; no other injuries on the rest of his body. The 16-year-old driver is having a really hard time. The child crawled under the vehicle and could not be seen.

I am so sorry. If it's the same incident, I saw this on the news today and my heart sunk for the anonomous family, and to now know it's part of your family... well, I wish I knew what to say.

this actually almost happened to my little sister--but the car managed to roll over her safely... the adult was so distraught--they will definately need prayers too.

Update:

Our 16-month-old nephew is pretty much the same. No additional swelling. Some bleeding concerns; they'll put a dye in to find them so they can repair. Possible surgery tomorrow to repair skull. They did a light test on his eyes to check brain activity and he responded like he should have. Things are still "iffy", but Scott's dad says he's comfortable he'll be okay. He was finally able to go in and give him a blessing late last night.

Meanwhile, I know his 16 year old brother is still distraught. We are all very worried about him.

It is strange to think how quickly things can change, from watching most* of the boys play football in the grandparents' back yard on Sunday, to this. (*Most meaning all but Scott, Hidden, and 2 of our 3 boys, I think. :)

(The 16 year old is the baby's brother and our nephew. He was so excited to have a little brother last year after two little sisters. My heart breaks for him.)
